Over a week ago, on October 7th, the world witnessed unimaginable acts of evil and terrorism in Israel that preceded the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. A conflict that has global ramifications and that reveals how interconnected our world and days are—delicately woven, framed, and shaped by people and their stories.

This is our inescapable reality.

Today, I join many others in offering prayers for the people of Israel and Gaza, the innocent lives lost, families grieving, remaining loved ones, and especially the mothers and children who suffer most in conflicts. I am reminded of the words of Gary Burnison: that in these times, above all else, our shared humanity must always supersede brutality.
