As we come to the end of the first month of the new year, the last week is an opportune moment to reflect on our progress and realign our strategies. Often, the start of a year is filled with enthusiasm and resolutions, but as weeks pass by, some of that initial spark might wane.

Life has an uncanny ability to cast shadows on our brightest intentions. Our days are often filled with incessant demands and distractions that could obscure our paths if we are not vigilant.

Vigilance requires introspection, reflection and action.

Since I didn’t achieve two of my core goals last year; notably publishing my 5th book and relaunching my podcast show. I know it takes more than setting goals.

I admit that I need a more focused, vigilance and consistency.

See, our best intentions are never sufficient; being accountable matters.

When I finally met up with my accountability buddy a few weeks ago, I had to own up to my missed goals, recommitted myself to a system, and to delivering on my missed goals and the new ones for the year. In addition, I had to ensure within my processes, there is a way to eradicate excuses and justify my ineptness.
