Continuum: The Anti-Racist Journey

We have a long way to go towards the desired state of humanity, humankindness, transformation that is so desperately in our societies and communities.

The question, what can I do often asked after these heinous events is a reminder that there is so much work to be done. I have faith, hope and confidence that ‘we’ will figure it out eventually, I am also conscious that this is a generational challenge, that will continue to require the fighting spirit that looks out for our collective humanity.

From experience, some of us know that this journey of becoming anti-racist, is a continuum, and not a destination. There is no resting on our oars or succumbing to complacency. I believe learning, engagement and development is a must, and in my opinion, it starts with identifying your place or position on the continuum and being committed to the process of learning, unlearning and relearning. A little caveat, resist the urge to equate process with knowledge and be focused on tangible progress and change. Remember, the proof is visible, measurable, tangible and impactful.

Spare us the mere words, tweets or posts, show us the receipts.
